PATH seeks a Finance and Administration Officer to provide administrative and financial oversight and support to an on-going project in Mozambique, implemented under its global MalariaCare partnership, a United States Agency for International Development (USAID) funded program available to provide case management technical support to the President’s Malaria Initiative (PMI) focus and other countries.
MalariaCare aims to achieve universal diagnosis and appropriate case management for malaria by strengthening the capacity of malaria-affected countries at all levels of the health system to provide high-quality diagnostic and treatment services for malaria and other febrile illnesses.
The Finance and Administration Officer reports directly to the MalariaCare Mozambique Country Coordinator and collaborates closely with the MalariaCare Finance and Operations Team Lead in Washington, DC.
Based in Maputo, the Finance and Administration Officer will oversee the finance and administrative functions of MalariaCare Mozambique, including but not limited to financial management and accounting / bookkeeping and procurement.
Day to day processing of transactions in compliance with PATH and donor guidelines.
Prepare forms and receipts for payments (ex. consultant payment) and reimbursements for approval.
Ensure the completeness and accuracy of accounting data and filing of documents.
Work with Site Administrator to compile monthly field office financial reports.
Review project monthly expense report and prepare monthly financial requests in close collaboration with the MalariaCare Country Coordinator for Mozambique.
Provide guidance and technical assistance to partner organizations to ensure consistent, effective, and efficient compliance with project financial requirements.
Develop and monitor budgets and keep project coordinator updated about spending against project budgets.
Conduct pre-qualification reviews and selection of potential vendors to ensure value for money and compliance with donor requirements.
Contribute to internal PATH project financial reporting function.
Assist with the disbursement of workshop allowances and other payments for MalariaCare activities.
Reconcile advances against actual expenditures.
Maintain MalariaCare filing.
Provide logistical support for meetings, trainings and supervision activities.
Ensuring timely reporting of project costs.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, in particular Excel, and financial software.
Strong management and leadership skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in verbal and written English and Portuguese.
Flexibility to meet stringent deadline
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field, MBA preferred, Minimum of 3-5 years in a senior administrative and financial management position in an international organization, including supervision of finance and administration teams, experience in developing, monitoring and reporting on complex budgets.
You must currently have legal authorization to work in Mozambique.
